President: "There is no evidence that Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire, we just responded"

"We were ready for a ceasefire. On October 10, in Moscow, our Foreign Minister, the Foreign Minister of Armenia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia issued a joint statement on the ceasefire.

The next day, however, Armenians fired 10 ballistic missiles at the second largest city in Azerbaijan, Ganja, far from the clashes, killing 10 civilians and wounding more than 30. Then there was a second ballistic missile attack on Ganja and 15 people were killed.

The statement came from President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Fox News, clarifying the ceasefire violation, AZERTAC reported.

"It simply came to our notice then. Because we agreed on a ceasefire twice. For the first time, the Armenians fired a ballistic missile at the sleeping city at 1 o'clock at night. The second ceasefire lasted only two minutes and was violated by Armenia. There is no evidence that Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire, "the head of state said.

In an interview with President Ilham Aliyev, "Will you try the ceasefire again?" answered the question as follows:

"Yes, we are ready. I have said this many times openly. We are ready to agree on a ceasefire today. But at the same time, Armenia, its prime minister, must say that they are committed to the basic principles developed by the United States, Russia and France.

Two days ago, the Armenian Prime Minister said that there is no diplomatic solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Speaking about the terms of the ceasefire, the Azerbaijani President said that Armenia must commit to vacating its lands in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and the peace plan submitted by the United States, France and Russia. But he doesn't say that.
