The clashes have been going on for less than a month, and as a result of a successful counterattack, Azerbaijan has been able to liberate some of the occupied territories, towns and villages. Every day we report on new cities and villages that have been liberated. This is not easy, because during the thirty years of occupation, Armenia has built very strong fortifications in the occupied territories. Therefore, it was not easy to cross the line of contact. But we did it in different directions - in the north, in the south. This demonstrates the high level of skills and potential of the Azerbaijani Army.
The statement came from President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro, describing the situation on the frontline.
"We are defeating Armenia on the battlefield and they have to flee from us. Thus, we have already restored our international border with Iran. More than 130 kilometers of this border were under occupation. So we have done a lot on the battlefield, and it continues. Armenia violates ceasefire twice If they had not violated the ceasefire - they first violated the ceasefire on October 10 and fired a ballistic missile at Ganja at night, and the second time on October 17 - today the clashes would have stopped, a political solution would have been preferred. This is our position. If they do not stop, we will continue to liberate our lands, "he said.
