President Emmanuel Macron and President Ilham Aliyev have been in close contact in recent weeks.
The statement came from French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zakari Gross on Twitter.
The ambassador continued:
"It is true that there have been some tensions lately, but the two leaders have always had high respect for each other.
President Ilham Aliyev said the recent period of tension was over: That page was closed. In fact, I am very grateful for that. "
Pres. Macron and Pres. Aliyev have been in close contact over the last weeks. Even when there were disagreements there was respect between the two leaders. Pres. Aliyev has said that the period of recent tensions is over: "page turned". Indeed! And for that I am grateful. 🇨🇵🇦🇿
