"Every inch of the occupied lands is dear to us. For me, the value of each city and village is the same compared to other cities and villages. You know very well that Shusha has a special place in the hearts of the Azerbaijani people. "
This was stated by President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with the Turkish TV channel A Haber.
The President noted that Shusha is our historical city:
“It is an ancient cultural center. Shusha has presented many genius and talents to the people of Azerbaijan. Of course, without Shusha, our work would be incomplete. This issue was always on the agenda during the discussions. "
Ilham Aliyev stressed that there were proposals at the negotiating table that Azerbaijan should buy five regions and be satisfied with that, leaving the rest:
"I have never agreed to this. It would not be right to take five districts, leave the remaining districts indefinitely, and consider the issue over. At various times, the mediators and some international organizations wondered why Ilham Aliyev did not agree with this.
Without glass, our work would be incomplete. The liberation of Shusha occupies a special place among our goals. We must work and achieve this. "
