Today is the birthday of Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration.
Hikmet Hajiyev was born on October 15, 1979 in the city of Ganja.
He graduated from secondary school No. 24 in Ganja. He graduated from Baku State University, Faculty of International Relations and International Law with a bachelor's and master's degree.
He holds a master's degree from NATO's Defense College, the George Marshall Center for Security Studies and the University of ULB in Belgium.
Hikmet Hajiyev has been working in the system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan since 2000. In different years, he worked in the Azerbaijani representation in NATO, in the Azerbaijani embassies in Kuwait and Egypt.
From 2014 to 2018, Hajiyev worked as the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
He was awarded the Medal for Distinguished Service in Diplomatic Service and the Order of Merit for the Motherland of the 2nd degree.
On September 18, 2018, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and on November 26, 2018, he was appointed Head of this Department.
On November 29, 2019, he was appointed Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He speaks Russian, Turkish, English and French.
He is married and has two children.
