Quarantine inspections have started - OFFICIAL

Ensuring the health and safety of the population in a situation where a state of war has been declared in our country, as well as a special quarantine regime continues, requires us to take a special approach and responsibility in accordance with the conditions of the war.

The statement came from the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He noted that business entities, especially in the food sector, must strictly adhere to anti-epidemic measures to prevent the spread of the disease, and always pay attention to the requirements of the quarantine regime in public catering establishments.

Unfortunately, during the inspections carried out by the Agency's staff in cooperation with the relevant agencies, a number of rules were not observed by the owners and customers of some catering establishments.

In order to monitor the implementation of guidelines for the prevention of coronavirus (COVID-19) approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (FSA) continues raids on public catering establishments.

Thus, on October 12-13, 2020, AQTA employees conducted 500 monitoring in 337 public catering facilities in Baku and Sumgayit, as well as Absheron region.

Entrepreneurs were explained the requirements of the legislation in the field of food safety, mandatory instructions and educational recommendations were given.

The raid revealed non-compliance with the rules approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers and gross violations in 34 public catering establishments. Administrative measures were taken in connection with the revealed facts within the requirements of the legislation on these enterprises.

During the raids, shortcomings were revealed in the business entities, mainly due to the lack of control over the use of medical masks by staff and customers, as well as non-compliance with the per capita density norms in the reception halls of public catering establishments during the pandemic.

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 237 of July 6, 2020 "On regulation of some issues related to the reception of customers in public catering establishments during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic", the distance between seats in dining halls is 1 meter behind the same table. It should not be less than 2 meters.

During the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the number of customers in public catering establishments should be twice less than the current norms and regulations, and the area per capita should be doubled accordingly.

It should not be forgotten that in order to continue the positive trend achieved as a result of effective measures to combat coronavirus, it is important to keep such measures in the spotlight and to implement preventive measures on a regular basis.
