The World Health Organization has criticized the idea of mass immunity against the coronavirus.
The statement came from World Health Organization (WHO) President Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, RIA Novosti reported.
"Mass immunity is a concept used in vaccination to protect the population from the virus," he said. For example, 95 percent of the population must be vaccinated to develop mass immunity. The other five percent will be protected from spreading the virus among vaccinated people, ”Gebreyesus said.
Thus, mass immunity is achieved through vaccination, not infection.
