The reason for the absence of the second wave of COVID-19 in China was explained

In China, where COVID-19 is spreading, the number of infections recorded per day is only a dozen. According to RBK, Russian experts shared their views on the absence of a second wave of the pandemic in China.

Anatoly Altstein, a virologist at the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in Russia, said the figure was not due to manipulation of statistics.

"If there were thousands, we would know that," he said.

According to the expert, the small increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus is due to high discipline and the effectiveness of quarantine.

Altstein stressed that the Chinese government was able to prevent the pandemic as soon as possible.

Larisa Popovich, director of the Institute of Health Economics at the Russian Higher School of Economics, also cited high discipline as one of the main reasons for this positive trend.

According to him, China's almost complete closure of its borders has also affected the absence of a second wave in the country.

Popovich also noted that traditional medicine, which strengthens the immune system, is popular in China.
