Foreign Ministry: Armenia carries out arms transportation by civil aviation under the guise of humanitarian aid
Under the guise of humanitarian aid, Armenia transports weapons to Armenia by civil aircraft.
The Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
It was noted that planes registered by the Armenian government and official trips to foreign countries are used for this purpose.
Such arms smuggling is also carried out under the guise of allegedly bringing humanitarian aid to Armenia by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations. In particular, missile systems and other weapons are transported here.
According to Article 4 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, adopted in Chicago in 1944, any State party to the Convention shall not use civil aviation for purposes inconsistent with the Convention.
According to Article 44 of the Convention, one of the main goals of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is to ensure the safe and regulated development of international civil aviation worldwide and to promote the peaceful operation of aircraft.
In this regard, we appealed to the International Civil Aviation Organization to investigate the matter and take appropriate measures.
