Does coronavirus cause infertility in men?
The development of infertility in men with coronavirus is not excluded.
According to Zvezda, Russian scientists commented on the findings of Israeli experts that COVID-19 may impair reproductive function in men who have recovered.

Galina Kojevnikova, head of the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, said that the virus was completely possible, but that more research was needed.

At the same time, Larisa Popovich, director of the Institute of Health Economics at Russia's Higher School of Economics, said the coronavirus could affect reproductive function. He explained this by the effect of the virus on the body's regulatory systems.

"Respiratory distress syndrome has several side effects, one of which is reproductive dysfunction," he said.

At the same time, Popovich stressed that this should be supported by experience and research.

Israeli scientists have found changes in the cells of the testicles that develop sperm in some patients. Leading scientist Dan Aderk said that the virus destroyed the ACE2 receptor testicular cells, resulting in infertility.
