Halo is a luminous ring formed around the Sun and the Moon.
It is formed as a result of refraction and reflection of light in ice crystals of feathered clouds at an altitude of 5-10 km above the ground.
Halo is also an optical atmospheric phenomenon like a rainbow and a polar glow.
