Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation
On October 5, 2012, on the initiative of the opposite party, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
The statement came from the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed concern over the growing tension in the region. They stressed the importance of resolving tensions and returning the parties to political dialogue.
In turn, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his Russian counterpart about Armenia's targeted firing on Azerbaijani civilians and infrastructure, targeting Ganja, the country's second largest city, Mingachevir, an industrial city, as well as densely populated settlements in other cities far from the frontline.
It was noted that there were casualties among civilians. Noting that these actions of Armenia are a serious violation of international humanitarian law, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that Armenia bears full responsibility for the situation.
