President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva have donated a month's salary to the Armed Forces Assistance Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
AZERTAC reports that the Fund for Assistance to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established by the decree of President Heydar Aliyev dated August 17, 2002.
The fund was established to develop and strengthen the material and technical base of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the statute of the Fund, legal entities and individuals operating in the territory of Azerbaijan can make voluntary payments in order to provide financial assistance to strengthen the material, technical and social base of the Armed Forces.
