The Danish government has decided to destroy about one million otters.
According to RIA Novosti, the reason for this was the discovery of coronavirus infection in seagulls on more than 40 farms.
According to the Danish Ministry of Environment and Food, the coronavirus was found in 41 farms, and the infection is believed to have spread to 20 more farms.
Minister of Environment and Food Mogens Jensen spoke on the issue:
"My main task is to ensure that farms with algae do not pose a risk of infection to humans, so the government has decided to destroy the algae."
