Another vaccine against the COVID-19 virus has been approved in Germany.
According to RIA Novosti, the biopharmaceutical company IDT Biologika has received permission for clinical trials of the coronavirus vaccine in Germany, according to a press release from the Paul Erlich Institute for Vaccines and Biomedical Medicines.
The vaccine, developed in collaboration with the German Center for Infectious Diseases (DZIF), will be tested on 30 participants aged 18 to 55 years.
Vaccination will be carried out in two stages over a period of four weeks. The second phase of clinical trials will cover a larger scale and will involve older volunteers.
While the first phase of testing is safe and effective, the next phase is scheduled for the end of this year. The vector vaccine against the virus has been developed on a modified and harmless basis.
