Azerbaijani WhatsApp users are sent untrue spam messages from fake numbers with Russian country code.
The Center for Combating Computer Incidents (CCCD) told APA that the messages sent were provocative and did not reflect the truth. The aim is to create fear and anxiety among the population by spreading misinformation.
Users who receive such messages are asked not to respond to these messages, not to log in to any link, and to report the message as "spam" by selecting "Report spam".
In addition, you can complain and block a contact by selecting the "Report / Contact" button in the "Settings" section.
Spam messages violate WhatsApp rules, and when complained, these contacts are blocked.
You can also contact the Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies via www.cert.az or [email protected] if you face such cyber incidents or need methodological support.
