Russia has changed the rules of imprisonment in prisons and other penitentiaries.
According to Gadin.Net, this was reported by RIA Novosti.
Thus, a law came into force that allows a prisoner to be transferred to a correctional facility near his home or close relatives' place of residence. The new rules will also apply to those sentenced to forced labor.
The decision to transfer a prisoner will be made by the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service on the basis of a written statement or a request from a relative.
