An old kettle found by a British resident in the attic and dating to the reign of Chinese Emperor Xianglu sold at auction for $ 495,000.
According to Gadin.Net, the former owner of the teapot said that his grandfather brought the item to Great Britain from Asia during the First World War. He admitted that at first he wanted to sell the teapot in an antiques store, but then decided to consult an expert.
The starting price of the lot was about $ 50,000. However, due to the constant increase in the price of eight people, the kettle was sold ten times more expensive. It was bought by an anonymous bidder from London.
