The "60 minutes" program broadcast on Russia's Rossiya 1 TV channel discussed the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine and director of the World Arms Trade Analysis Center, noted that the fighting took place in Azerbaijan.
"In order to fully understand the situation, we need to look at the facts that everyone has confirmed. The battles are fought on the territory of Azerbaijan. This is not a war on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, but only on the territory of Azerbaijan. "Armenian armed forces actually occupy seven regions around Nagorno-Karabakh, and it is in this area that fighting is taking place," Korotchenko said.
Speaking about the proposed plans for resolving the conflict, the political scientist said that it is based on the liberation of Azerbaijani territory from occupation.
He also noted that according to information from the front line, the Azerbaijani side is conducting a large-scale counterattack:
"The Azerbaijani army has already seized a number of settlements and heights, as the other side has acknowledged."
