Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade addressed the nation.
The appeal says:
"Addressing the people of Azerbaijan, I pray to God Almighty for the victories we have won in the recent struggle for the liberation of our native lands from Armenian occupation, and for our heroic sons who rose to the highest level of martyrdom in the eyes of the Almighty Creator."
Our people went to war for their territorial integrity. Patriotic war is always a just war. We have always been a peace-loving and peaceful people, we have never looked at another's land. We have treated the universal heritage with attention, care and respect as much as our national and moral values. However, it is an undeniable fact that we face the territorial claims of Armenian extremists against our ancient lands, occupation, genocide against our people, terrorism, ethnic cleansing, the policy of purposeful destruction of our religious and cultural monuments. This constant aggression has exhausted the patience of the Azerbaijani people. The occupation and moral aggression that has lasted for more than 30 years must end. Justice must prevail, truth must take its place!
Today, Azerbaijan is on the battlefield in response to the constant provocation of the occupying Armenia. This square serves to replace justice. For years, the true voice of Azerbaijan, the calls for peace, the efforts of the international community, the insults to our spiritual places, the destruction of our religious places of worship, the destruction of our ancestral lands, the destruction of our cemeteries, the loss of our traces, the falsification of our history. The hated occupier who commits acts of vandalism must finally answer on the battlefield. Armenians' appeal to the European Court of Human Rights is hypocritical and does not fit into any framework. As our President said, what does an Armenian soldier do in our land?
Azerbaijan defends the territorial integrity recognized by the international community, the UN, and fights for its lands. As a civil society based on international law, we have hoped for a just and peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. We have looked forward to the numerous visits, meetings and talks of international organizations working for the peaceful settlement of this conflict, and we appreciate these efforts. However, the Armenian side does its best to make these efforts ineffective. The world community despises civilians, civilians, houses, women, children and the elderly for violating international law, violating UN resolutions, committing genocide against Azerbaijanis in Khojaly, destroying our mosques and cemeteries, insulting our moral values, and ignoring international conventions. It does not impose any sanctions or sanctions on the Armenian extremists and terrorists who fired.
As the religious leader of the Caucasus, Sheikh-ul-Islam, as well as the leaders of religious denominations in Azerbaijan, we have made continuous and detailed appeals to international organizations, world parliaments, political and religious leaders about the crimes of the Armenian side over the years. Since the beginning of the conflict, I have repeatedly met with the Russian Orthodox Church, the Georgian Orthodox Church, the World Council of Churches, the Vatican and Muslim religious centers for a peaceful solution to the conflict, and participated in negotiations with the Armenian Church. As a result, we managed to prevent the conflict from escalating into an inter-religious confrontation, but, unfortunately, the Armenian side did not act in accordance with the spirit of the joint statements we signed. Armenia has always tried to disguise its aggressive-extremist policy at various levels, to dress the conflict in religious garb and present it as a Christian-Muslim confrontation. I declare unequivocally: we have not looked at other lands, the only goal of the Azerbaijani people is to save the Motherland from aggression and to liberate our ancient occupied lands from Armenian invaders.
The Caucasus Muslims Office congratulates our Supreme Commander-in-Chief and all our people on the victories of our glorious army in our struggle for our sacred homeland. These successes are the good news of the Great Victory we deserve. May God protect the heroic Azerbaijani Army, which today gives the enemy the answer it deserves! Our soldiers, whose hearts beat with the love of the sublime Motherland, are always in our hearts. We, the clergy, in all our prayers, pray for the victory of the struggle of our people for justice, for the victory of justice. We are always ready to be with our soldiers on the battlefield and support them. The homeland calls us. Our national pride and courage, spiritual unity and solidarity against oppression and injustice must be greater than ever.
All Azerbaijanis, regardless of their national or religious affiliation, political views, or anywhere in the world, must be in a ditch against a common enemy and unite like a fist. As the head of state stressed, "We are strong together."
The address of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to our people on the occasion of the victory of the Azerbaijani Army gave pride and joy to the hearts of believers and religious figures, who are an integral part of society. These days, the tenacity and courage of our local civilian population, which bravely withstood the provocative attacks of Armenia, both in Karabakh and in the direction of Tovuz, is an example of citizenship that inspires our people. Like all our people, the main desire of millions of believers is the liberation of our occupied lands under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Azerbaijan. The country's believers, as always, support the decisive steps of our head of state and are ready to make their practical contribution to achieving our historic victory under the leadership of our Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Addressing the people of Azerbaijan once again, we ask God Almighty to have mercy on our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the holy land entrusted to us by God Almighty, the salvation of our religious and spiritual values, and the healing of the wounded souls of our ancestors. May Almighty God be with us in our just struggle for the truth! May God Almighty protect our Azerbaijan, may our Supreme Commander-in-Chief be victorious, may our state, army and people be victorious, I hope! Amen! "
