"The information spread by the Armenian side about the alleged shooting down of three tanks, two helicopters and three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to the Azerbaijani Army is false and misinformation."
The statement came from Defense Ministry spokesman Anar Eyvazov.
He said that our units on the front have a complete advantage over the enemy.
The ministry official noted that in order to prevent the combat activity of the Armenian armed forces and ensure the security of the civilian population, the command of the Azerbaijani Army decided to launch a counter-offensive along the entire front.
"We officially declare that the Azerbaijani Army does not target the civilian population, civilian facilities and civilian infrastructure," Eyvazov said.
He said that unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan complies with the requirements of international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Conventions, during military operations.
"The Armenian army is deliberately placing its firing points inside and near civilian settlements.
The Azerbaijani Army calls on the civilian population in the occupied territories to stay away from military facilities.
