Rinat Maksudov, director of Russia's Vector State Scientific Center for Virology and Biotechnology, said lifelong immunity to the coronavirus could develop.
According to Gadin.Net, this was reported by Russia 1.
"In the case of certain features of the immune system and the severity of the disease, it can be assumed that lifelong immunity can be formed," said Maksudov.
Maksudov noted that if a person has a severe coronavirus infection, then sufficient immunity must be formed, and therefore these patients do not require vaccination. In mild and asymptomatic course of the disease, the level of immunity may not be so high, so vaccination for the prevention of COVID-19 is required.
