"Currently, the epidemiological situation in Azerbaijan is under control. Nevertheless, a cold season awaits us. The autumn-winter season is coming. Respiratory, respiratory and airborne diseases are increasing this season. Therefore, the autumn-winter season can cause some problems during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, any respiratory disease can be expected to be associated with COVID-19. This is primarily a flu disease. For this reason, influenza vaccination is becoming more urgent.
The statement came from Professor Akif Gurbanov, Chairman of the Medical Scientific Committee under the Board of the Medical Territorial Units Management Association (MEDIA), Gadin.Net reports quoting Report.
The professor said that if COVID-19 was found to be associated with the flu, it could make the disease worse. Therefore, vaccination against influenza is urgent all over the world. Measures are being taken in almost all countries of the world. In fact, influenza vaccination is now part of the anti-epidemic measures against COVID-19.
He noted that influenza vaccination measures have been implemented in our country before. Gurbanov said that vaccination was not used so seriously at that time:
"We are living in a pandemic caused by another virus, COVID-19. If we do not face certain difficulties in the course of the pandemic in the autumn and winter, the use of coronavirus vaccines in the near future, ie from next year, will help us to avoid the threat of a pandemic.
