The State Customs Committee answered citizens' questions after the entry into force of Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 305 on lowering the customs limit to $ 300 from September 24.
Citizen's question: Can a carrier declare for goods ordered by an individual instead of an individual?
Answer: An individual ordering in the Smart Customs mobile application only needs to submit a simplified declaration.
Citizen's question: Is it possible to bring a phone through a carrier by declaring it in the Smart Customs mobile application?
Answer: You can order any product within the $ 300 limit. If you exceed the limit, the product you brought will be subject to customs duties.
The State Customs Committee will be based on the customs declaration sent through the mobile application, not on the information written for the transport company. Citizens can submit the declaration without leaving home, via computer or mobile phone.
According to the SCC's "Simplified Declaration - Electronic Commerce" project, Azerbaijani citizens can use the "Personal Identification Number" (PIN) to access the "Smart Customs" mobile application, along with Asan Imza and Electronic Signature.
It should be noted that the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 305 reduced the maximum amount of goods that can be imported duty-free by individuals.
Prior to the decision, a citizen could bring $ 1,500 worth of goods directly for personal use during the month, and $ 1,000 via e-commerce - by mail.
According to the new decision, these figures were reduced to $ 800 and $ 300, respectively. That is, if a citizen buys goods worth more than $ 300 from a foreign store on the Internet, he must pay 36 percent customs duty for that excess amount.
