According to RIA Novosti, this was admitted by the head of the Chinese company SinoVac, which developed the vaccine CoronaVac, Yi Weidun.
According to him, the inactivated vaccine against COVID-19 is the most effective of all vaccines studied. However, no drug can provide complete protection against infection.
Weidun stressed that not all drugs used for mass vaccination are 100 percent effective. However, according to the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO), the drug is considered safe for use if the protection factor is at least 50 percent.
He expressed confidence that this figure will be higher after the completion of the tests.
