Disappointing vaccine statement from the WHO
About 200 coronavirus vaccines are being tested. There is no guarantee that they will be useful.
According to HaberGlobal, Tedros Adhanom Gebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, said this during a press conference via video conference.
"We cannot guarantee that any vaccine that is currently under development will be useful," he said.
Gebreyesus asked for support for the pandemic vaccination and treatment program (ACT Accelerator). According to him, 35 billion is needed for the program, but so far only three billion have been collected:
"The WHO urgently needs $ 15 billion to achieve its goal of COVID-19 vaccination and treatment."
The WHO chief said his goal was to get two billion doses of vaccine by the end of 2021.
