Excitement from Jalal Isayev: "Infected students spread the virus in society"
Since the beginning of the school year, 121 students, including 95 students and 26 staff members, have been diagnosed with coronavirus. Additional measures must be taken to prevent this.
The statement came from Jalal Isayev, chief infectious disease specialist of Azerbaijan, Gadin.Net reports. He said that in the lower grades, coronavirus usually passes at the subclinical level, which does not pose a particular threat to them:
"Of course, they do not pose a threat to them, but they are a great threat to us as carriers. They secrete the virus and spread the virus in society without any clinical signs. Therefore, taking into account the serious threat of this point, new mechanisms must be developed. These figures are quite high and additional measures must be taken to prevent infection.
Isayev added that not only lower grades, but also upper grades in the regions were infected:
"Parents have a serious responsibility here. They should be required to wear a mask. At the same time, the negligent behavior of teachers has led to infections. Students should be given a short break to avoid close contact with each other. Unfortunately, online classes in primary school do not work. It is not right to stop education for the future of children. A separate mechanism should be considered and measures should be taken. There were many cases of infection in Baku and 4 classes were closed. This issue should be discussed collectively and a decision should be made as soon as possible. "
