There are no plans to increase the retirement age for men in Azerbaijan.
The statement came from Aykhan Majidov, an employee of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, in a live link dedicated to the "Rules for the appointment and calculation of pensions."
According to him, the age limit for determining the old-age pension is 65 for men and 62 for women:
"For men, 65 is the final retirement age. After that, there will be no increase in the retirement age for men. Men over the age of 65 will be able to retire permanently. For women, the age of 62 will remain in force until June 30, 2021. After that, the retirement age will be increased by 6 months.
Majidov noted that serious reforms have been carried out in the field of pensions over the past two years, and the process of softening the retirement opportunities of pensioners has taken place.
An official of the fund said that the recognition of 25 years of experience of those who have reached retirement age from January 1, 2019, has increased the chances of most people to retire:
"One of the main conditions was that a person had a minimum length of service from January 1, 2006 to July 1, 2018. If a person had such a length of service for 1 month, his length of service was recognized until 2006. The norm required to retire for 25 years Thousands of citizens have been able to retire because of this. ”(trend)
