Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, has estimated the timing of the coronavirus vaccination in the United States.
He believes that the United States will not be able to get the coronavirus vaccine until the end of October, and that only one vaccine tested so far may be ready for use in the United States, Qadin.Net reports quoting publika.az.
"None of the vaccines are likely to be approved in the United States by the end of October. If all goes well, the only vaccine that can be approved for emergency use by the end of October is Pfizer," Gates told CNBC.
The founder of Microsoft hopes that the vaccine will be allowed to be used in the United States until December next year or January next year, if it proves effective.
The number of coronavirus infections in the United States has exceeded 6.5 million.
At present, clinical trials of coronavirus vaccines developed by companies such as Moderna, Pfizer and AstraZeneca are underway in the country. Earlier, President Donald Trump said that the COVID-19 vaccine could be ready in the United States before the November 3 presidential election.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Stephen Hah, head of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), said that if the benefits outweigh the potential risks, they are ready to approve the coronavirus vaccine before the third phase of clinical trials is completed.
Experts estimate that the pandemic will end if 70% of the world's population is vaccinated against the coronavirus or if they can gain an immune system in any other way.
