A person who carries the coronavirus and, as a result, has antibodies, most likely will not be infected again.
Immunologist Vladimir Bolibok told NEWS.ru about this, Gadin.Net reports citing publika.az. According to him, recurrent cases are not widespread - the probability of this is about 0.01%.
The expert said that immunity to the COVID-19 virus will prolong the period of constant contact with infected patients:
"Immunity in patients occurs because of constant contact with the coronavirus. If a person is regularly exposed to COVID-19 carriers, the body realizes that the infection is nearby - in the environment, and reacts accordingly.
However, immunity to coronavirus will last longer in people who are vaccinated than in those who do not.
