The incident that killed 49-year-old Elaine Herchberg took place in March 2018 in Arizona, RIA Novosti reported.
The unmanned Uber "saw" the cyclist, but did not brake. The operator behind the wheel deviated from the road and the vehicle could not switch to manual mode.
Rafael Vasquez, 46, was charged on August 27. Vasquez, who identified himself as a woman, pleaded not guilty.
The trial is scheduled for February 11, 2021.
Following the tragedy, Uber shut down a project in the state and Arizona authorities banned testing on public roads.
