New system in Azerbaijan: It is possible to pay for buses on a mobile phone

The Information Computing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies (NRYTN) has launched a pilot project in Shamakhi, which introduces the latest innovations in non-cash payments for passenger transportation.
According to the ministry, a new system has been installed in several buses in Shamakhi, which supports contactless technology and allows you to pay by bank cards and mobile devices.
The wide-ranging system combines features such as NFC technology, QR code payment, special discounts on social categories, real-time control of payments.
It should be noted that this system can be integrated into the payment system of all public transport.
The system supports any bank card. If a citizen does not have a bank card, he / she can use Prepaid bank cards provided by Azer-Turk Bank OJSC to use this service. These cards can be used not only for public transport, but also for other payments (utility costs, shopping in the store, etc.).

The card can be obtained from the branches of Azer-Turk Bank OJSC, branches and departments of Azerpocht LLC. The cards will also be available from special devices installed in different parts of the city. A special mobile application based on augmented reality technology has been developed for this project in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. With the help of the application it will be possible to get information about the tourist facilities, historical places of Shamakhi, to determine the route. To do this, simply hold the camera opened on the mobile application on the "Prepaid" card.

It should be noted that the project is sponsored by Mastercard, and the regulatory body is the State Motor Transport Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. Under the project, card processing and financial services will be provided by Azer-Turk Bank OJSC.

It should be noted that the implementation of such projects at the national level reduces physical contact, supports the development of "smart" urban projects, as well as increases citizen satisfaction.
