From today, teaching for primary school begins in a visual form.
Classes in educational institutions will be held on a rotating basis, starting from 8 am, according to the approved schedule, depending on the number of students.
Knowledge Day will not be held in public schools. This is due to the fact that during the special quarantine regime approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, the organization of the teaching and learning process in educational institutions operating in Azerbaijan is not allowed to hold mass events outside the educational process with the participation of students and educators. The hours of lessons (training) and extracurricular (practical) classes in general education institutions are set at 30 minutes at the school preparation stage, and 45 minutes at the primary and general education levels.
It should be noted that a total of 1,574,206 students are expected to study in general education institutions of the country in the new academic year. Of the total number of students, 733,279 are girls and 840,927 are boys. It is forecasted that 165,511 students will study in the first grade, 132,734 in the ninth grade and 85,044 in the eleventh grade.
According to the forecast, at the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic year, 317 primary schools, 783 general secondary schools, 3319 full secondary schools, 16 special type schools and 5 full-time (evening) full secondary schools, including 60 high schools, 50 high schools A total of 4,440 schools are expected to operate, including 15 gymnasiums and 14 integrated boarding schools. In the new school year, 1,216,96 children are expected to study in pre-school groups of general education institutions.
In addition, topics for the first lessons in the new school year have been identified. The first lessons in I-IV grades (visual form) “How do I follow the rules of hygiene?”, V-IX grades (distance (distance) form) “Acquiring independent learning skills is a requirement of time”, X-XI grades (distance form) It will be dedicated to the theme "A responsible citizen means a strong state."
At the same time, on the first day of the school year, eight newly built schools will be commissioned in Baku and other cities and regions. In addition, five gymnasiums and schools have been overhauled and will be available to students from this academic year. In addition, 34 more modular schools in 14 districts will be provided to students.
It should be noted that due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to suspend the teaching and learning process in all educational institutions in the country from March 3 this year.
