Scientists in Singapore have developed a special sensor system that can detect signs of COVID-19 infection.
The sensor can be placed inside any mask, Gadin.Net reports quoting the Straits Times.
Specialists have created a special "tracking system" that allows sensors to collect information about body temperature, oxygen saturation (blood saturation), blood pressure and heart rate. Based on these indicators, it is possible to draw conclusions about coronavirus infection.
According to scientists, the material on which the sensors are installed is flexible and waterproof. At the same time, it has a built-in Bluetooth signal transmitter, which allows you to send data to the smartphone application.
The chip-equipped mask can be washed and reused.
"Smart masks" can be used in hospitals to remotely monitor the performance of patients with COVID-19.
