Classes related to the coronavirus pandemic will start online in higher education institutions from September 15. From October 1, first-year students are expected to come to classes in person. After October 15, it will be allowed to organize full-time education in some specialties that require laboratory work.
I wonder how universities will use quarantine rules to protect against coronavirus?
Qadin.Net reports that Oxu.Az has sent a request to universities on the subject.
Spokesman for the Baku Engineering University (BMU) Elman Babayev said that in accordance with the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, classes at the Baku Engineering University (BMU) from the 2020/2021 academic year will continue at a distance, as in other universities:
"From October 1, part-time education will be organized in coordination with the relevant specialties. Depending on the epidemiological situation, the educational process will continue in accordance with the decisions of the operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers and the requirements of the Ministry of Education. BMU has extensive experience in online learning. Thus, before the pandemic, e-learning, online learning platform, e-university management system and other e-services existed, and therefore the use of these resources continued during the pandemic.
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as to protect the health of university staff, medical-prophylactic and disinfection measures were carried out every week at BMU, and this work continues today. Various surface disinfectants and cleaning products, protective clothing, as well as alcohol-based hand sanitizers have been purchased for high-level and sustainable work in this direction. There are opportunities for unimpeded use of these products on each floor.
Spokeswoman for Baku State University (BSU) Gunel Iskander said that preparations are underway at Baku State University to ensure the prevention of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection:
"Given that the new academic year is just around the corner, BSU is preparing an instruction manual to ensure safety against the virus. The manual contains all the guidelines. Necessary conditions have been created for the safety of BSU employees. Employees entering the university are checked for body temperature with an electronic thermometer that can be measured remotely, the necessary disinfectants are used, protective equipment (gloves, medical mask) is provided.
According to Sevinj Isgandarov, spokeswoman for the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), classes on the pandemic will begin online:
"Teachers and students will not come to the university. However, due to the fact that a certain number of employees come and go to work, disinfection work is carried out regularly inside the university. Disinfectants and medical masks are used in the rooms. After that, the decisions of the operational headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Education on the educational process will be implemented.
According to the head of the press service of the Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU) Gunel Aslanova, disinfection works are carried out in all educational buildings, clinics, dormitories of the AMU:
"Buffets will not be opened. Because there is a large influx of students to cafeterias. As for classes, they will be online. Lectures are prepared in the form of videos. The lectures are currently being videotaped. Students will be tested for temperature and allowed into the classroom with a mask. Changes are being made to maintain the distance between classrooms.
