The results of the third phase of clinical trials of vaccines against COVID-19 will be known in early 2021. The first few hundred million doses of the drug should be expected by the middle of next year.
According to Gadin.Net, this was reported to Izvestia by the World Health Organization (WHO).
It is said that one or more of these vaccines are expected to be safe and effective, but it is not yet clear which one they are talking аbout:
"Only the results of the third stage will clarify this."
According to the WHO, today more than 200 coronavirus vaccines are being developed around the world, 30 of which are being tested in humans.
Note that there are five stages in the preparation of the drug:
- Preclinical research,
- stage 1 - testing in a small group of people, safety and dose testing,
- Stage 2 - Extensive tests on hundreds of people in different age groups,
- Stage 3 - Test in thousands of people
- approval of the vaccine.
