How did the resumption of travel to the regions affect taxi prices?
After the removal of quarantine posts at the entrances and exits of Baku, Sumgayit and Absheron regions, the fares in taxis carrying passengers to the regions decreased.
According to Gadin.Net, citizens began to travel freely to the regions in the morning of September 8.
The removal of quarantine posts has already reduced fares to the previous level.
For example, if a passenger traveled by taxi from the so-called Shamakhi road in Baku to the Guba region for 8 manats, after the application of strict quarantine rules, the fare was increased by 25-30 manats. The fare for taxis carrying 7 manats from Agsu to Agsu was increased by 30 manats, Shamakhi by 25 manats and Ismayilli by 35 manats. Taxis attributed the artificial increase in prices to the fact that it was impossible to cross the quarantine checkpoints in the direction of the district, and they passed through the area by secret routes.

From September 8, passenger prices have been restored. Taxi drivers say that although the number of passengers is expected to increase in the direction of the region or vice versa after the removal of quarantine posts, they have met the opposite.

There has been no significant increase in the number of passengers in this direction. As there is no change in the quarantine regime, taxi drivers have been forced to reduce prices. At present, 1 passenger is transported from Baku to Agsu for 7-10 manats, to Shamakhi for 5-6 manats, and to Guba for 8-10 manats. During the quarantine period, taxi drivers demanded a fare of 45-50 manat per passenger in Ganja, but now the price has dropped to 10 manat.

Also, drivers used to charge 65-70 manat per person for transporting passengers to Tovuz region, but now they carry 12-15 manat in that direction.
