Sexual exploitation and violence against children have increased due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Izvestia, this is stated in a report released by Interpol.
It is reported that sexual abuse of children often goes unreported in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition, rape-related material is more prevalent among minors.
"Discussions on forums on sexual exploitation and child abuse have also intensified on the Darknet closed network," the agency warned.
The organization is also concerned that reports of some violations remain unresolved due to long delays. The agency attributed this, among other reasons, to delays in hearing cases due to lack of human resources, disruption of information processes and closure of courts.
