The South Korean Center for Disease Control and Prevention has taken action against the possibility of a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
In this regard, the center intends to develop a test kit that can simultaneously test for coronavirus and seasonal influenza, and therefore distinguish very similar symptoms, Qadin.Net reports citing publika.az.
The director of the center, Jeong Eun-Kyeong, said that seasonal diseases with coronavirus have common symptoms and the importance of distinguishing them in the fight against pandemics.
It is said that this test will shorten the time required for diagnosis.
The test kit is awaiting approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It is emphasized that the confirmation can be obtained before the flu season. Fever, cough and weakness, which are the most common symptoms of coronavirus, are also symptoms of the flu.
