Damage to colored and decorative masks used to protect against coronavirus has emerged.
Turkish dermatologist Yasemen Fateh Amato said that masks made of synthetic materials cause an allergic reaction on the skin. Therefore, it is recommended to buy masks that are as natural and non-allergenic as possible:
"Although colorful masks attract attention, because they are synthetic, they cause allergic reactions. Problems can arise because your body is not used to wearing a mask for a long time. Airtight masks are harmful. Itching, redness, eczema, and even open sores can occur in some people, especially on sensitive areas of the skin. If the redness does not go away within 20-30 minutes after removing the mask, there is a problem. Therefore, in this case, change the mask immediately. In general, stay away from synthetic materials to prevent allergic reactions. If you sweat a lot and your skin is oily, change the mask several times a day. Oily moisturizers can disrupt the skin flora under the mask.
