Number of TB patients in Azerbaijan, age group "leader" in infection - STATISTICS

The dynamics of tuberculosis in the population of Azerbaijan in 2019 has been determined.
According to official statistics, 3,613 people were diagnosed with tuberculosis last year.
Pulmonary tuberculosis is predominant in Azerbaijan. In 2019, 2783 people were diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis.
447 patients with tuberculosis pleurisy were diagnosed, 142 people were diagnosed with tuberculosis of bones and joints.
47 people were diagnosed with intrathoracic lymph nodes and 25 with urogenital tuberculosis.
The majority of TB patients in Azerbaijan are men. In 2019, 2,415 men and 1,198 women were infected with tuberculosis.
In Azerbaijan, most people aged 18-29 suffer from active tuberculosis (1178 people).

Tuberculosis is also more common in people aged 45-64. Last year, 951 people in this age group had tuberculosis.

879 people aged 30-44 were diagnosed with tuberculosis.

In general, in 2019, the number of TB patients registered in treatment-and-prophylaxis facilities was 8,257.
