In recent days, the issue of transferring taxi services to a single tariff in the country is being discussed. During the discussions, experts predict that the fare on public transport in the country will increase to 50 kopecks.
Gadin.Net reports that in response to Oxu.Az's inquiry on the issue, the head of the press service of Baku Metro Bakhtiyar Mammadov said that this issue was not on the agenda:
"Today, the main focus is on restoring the subway. Like everyone else, we are waiting for the headquarters to make decisions in this direction. However, the Tariff Council is considering raising fares on public transport. The agency has not made any proposals to increase prices. In general, the issue of price increase is not on the agenda.
Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, said at a recent briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers that a decision on the resumption of the metro will be made by September 15.
At the same time, it should be noted that, according to Oxu.Az, the Baku metro will start operating on September 13.
