Vitamin B12 reduces the risk of coronavirus.
This conclusion was reached as a result of a study conducted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education and the Regional Biotechnology Center of Turkey, Qadin.Net reports citing publika.az.
A study to test the effects of vitamins on the coronavirus found that methylcobalamin, a form of vitamin B12, could prevent the spread of coronavirus-infected cells and thus reduce the risk of developing COVID-19.
It was noted that vitamin B12 can be used as a preservative to reduce the risk of infection in medical staff, the elderly and people with chronic diseases.
However, the researchers stressed the need to conduct some tests to fully confirm this effect.
The research article was published in the journal IUBMB Life of the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
