In Indonesia, scientists have discovered a modified form of the coronavirus called "Mutation D614G" in the country's scientific community.
This was reported by The Star newspaper, citing publika.az.
"According to preliminary data, about 40% of all infected people in the country are infected with this modified virus," said Eikman Amin Soebandrio, head of the Institute for Molecular Biology in Jakarta.
According to him, additional research is being conducted to get a clearer picture.
The scientist said that in the presence of the D614G mutation, the virus is transmitted faster.
The expert said that there is scientific evidence that it is more difficult for a person to tolerate this infection.
