The quarantine applied in connection with the coronavirus pandemic in our country since mid-March, as well as the special strict quarantine regime in 13 regions, has only 3 days left to expire. Citizens are looking forward to the decision of the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers. I think that in general, the introduction of quarantine and a special strict quarantine regime in our country was a very right step and it was needed.
The statement came from MP Tamam Jafarova, Gadin.Net reports.
He said that if a special quarantine regime had not been applied, we would now be facing a completely different situation, with huge losses and disasters:
"It is very significant that due to the correct, flexible, far-sighted steps and decisions of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who always stood by his citizens, cared about their health and safety, and put them above all else, our country is suffering from this painful, bitter, was able to stay away from the terrible complications. Currently, the situation is under control. Azerbaijan is among the countries with the best results in terms of the number of infected and dead, as well as the rate of infection and recovery. It is no coincidence that many international organizations, including the WHO, have repeatedly stressed this.
As a result, it was possible to ease the special quarantine regime, which was tightened from August 5, and remove restrictions. However, seeing the positive dynamics, we must not rest on our laurels, we must not lose our sense of responsibility, we must still unequivocally and without exception follow the decisions of the Operations Headquarters and quarantine rules with our civic responsibility and solidarity. We must ensure that these decisions are sustainable and successful. In this regard, there are issues that need to be addressed. To do this, we must follow simple rules. I believe that by following simple rules, such as wearing a medical mask, maintaining social distance and hygiene, we can get rid of this problem faster and with less loss.
T.Jafarova stressed that along with all this, one of the most important tasks ahead is to maintain and strengthen the achieved success: “It is the duty of all of us to protect so much work and so much effort. It is impossible to be sure. I think that the general quarantine regime in the country should be extended until the coronavirus vaccine is found. International experience shows that countries that have succeeded in fighting the coronavirus and abolished the quarantine regime have been forced to reintroduce restrictions in the wake of the spread of the infection. This issue is especially relevant due to the upcoming autumn and winter seasons, when various diseases are active. It is worrying that after the last easing of the quarantine regime, the number of infected people rose again to 3, ie the number of daily infections is much higher than the number of cured.
Therefore, I think that with the exception of Baku, Sumgayit and Absheron districts, 10 other districts should be removed from the strict quarantine regime, but the general quarantine regime should be continued in the country to prevent the growth dynamics of infections. It is also possible to go to the regions, of course, with strict control over the opening of a number of closed places, restaurants, cafes, large shopping centers.
Citizens must act as responsibly as possible until a vaccine for COVID-19 is found, and we must continue to protect ourselves and our environment as much as possible. ”
