The pandemic has caused fear and anxiety to millions of people around the world.
The statement came from the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Gebreisus, Qadin.Net reports.
According to him, the spread of coronavirus also impairs psychological health.
The WHO chief said that before the pandemic, mental health had become a "forgotten problem in global health".
Today, billions of people live in a state of psychological disorder, three million people die each year as a result of alcohol abuse, and one suicide occurs every 40 seconds in the world.
At the same time, he noted that very few people with psychological problems see a doctor. According to him, in low- and middle-income countries, more than 75 percent of people with psychological and neurological diseases do not receive treatment at all.
