Today is the birthday of First Vice President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva.
Mehriban Arif gizi Aliyeva - was born in 1964 in Baku in an intellectual family.
In 1981, she graduated from Baku Secondary School No. 23 with a gold medal and entered the treatment and prevention faculty of the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute named after Nariman Narimanov.
In 1988 she graduated with honors from the First Moscow State Medical Institute named after IM Sechenov.
In 1988-1990 she passed a clinical residency in "Eye Diseases" at the First Moscow Medical Institute named after IM Sechenov.
From 1988 to 1992 he worked at the Scientific Research Institute of Ophthalmology in Moscow.
In 1995, on the initiative of Mehriban Aliyeva, the Friends of Azerbaijani Culture Foundation was established.
In 1996, Mehriban Aliyeva founded the "Azerbaijan - Heritage" magazine, published in three languages (Azerbaijani, English and Russian) to promote Azerbaijani culture.
Mehriban Aliyeva was elected President of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation in 2002.
Since 2004, she has been leading the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which was established to study the rich political heritage of national leader Heydar Aliyev and promote the ideas of national statehood.
In August 2004, she was awarded the title of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for his contribution to the preservation and development of Azerbaijan's oral folk literature and national musical heritage.
In December 2004, she was elected a member of the Executive Committee of the NOC at the IV General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
She has been a member of the Political Council of the New Azerbaijan Party since 2004 and deputy chairman of the party since 2013.
In 2005 he received a doctorate in philosophy.
In 2005, 2010 and 2015, she was elected a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan of the third, fourth and fifth convocations.
She was awarded the title of Goodwill Ambassador of ISESCO in November 2006 for his large-scale humanitarian work, including the development of dialogue between civilizations and cultures, the promotion of Islamic cultural heritage and the great support of children in need.
She was elected a member of the Coordinating Council of World Azerbaijanis at the IV Congress of World Azerbaijanis in Baku in June 2016.
On February 21, 2017, she was appointed First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In this regard, on March 6, 2017, the powers of a deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan were terminated.
She is married, has two daughters, a son and five grandchildren.
