Everyone knows from the practice of previous years how the day of Ashura was celebrated in all mosques. After their prayers, people took part in blood donations in the courtyards of mosques. However, due to the pandemic, any public event was banned in the country. That is why, by the decision of the Caucasus Muslims Office and the operational headquarters, the blood donation campaign will be organized at the Central Blood Bank and its branches.

This year, citizens will be able to donate blood by approaching the Center for Hematology and Transphysiology at the Central Blood Bank, Qadin.Net reports quoting Baku.tv. Provided that citizens will follow all the rules of social distance and wear masks. The departments of the National Center for Hematology and Transfusiology related to blood donation are already known.

Khayala Gafarova, a specialist of the Central Blood Bank, told the press:

"Citizens who want to donate blood will first have their temperature measured. They will donate blood after all medical conditions have been checked. The main thing in this case is to pay attention to maintaining the social distance between them. Volunteers and police officers will help us."

Also, regional areas have been identified for those who live in the regions and want to participate in this action:

"Last year, 4-5 thousand people took part in the action. This year, all preventive measures have been taken around these figures. As for the regions, they can donate their blood by applying to Shirvan, Ganja, Mingachevir, Sumgayit, Barda, Lankaran," Khayala Gafarova added. hit.

It should be noted that the Interior Ministry has banned all public events, including religious ceremonies, and gatherings of more than 5-10 people in public and other places during the special quarantine regime in the country until August 31, 2020. The activities of mosques have been suspended. It is not allowed to gather in mosques, shrines and other places of worship, as well as in individual houses on the day of Ashura in connection with the month of Muharram, which begins on August 21.
