Amendments by the Cabinet of Ministers to the "Preferential and simplified rules for the movement of goods across the customs border by individuals not intended for production or commercial purposes" will not lead to an increase in prices in the country.
The statement came from Sanan Mukhtarov, head of the legal department of the State Customs Committee.
"Sometimes it is said that this decision will lead to an increase in prices. But this is not the case. The state has enough antitrust authorities. The situation in this area will be monitored so that citizens do not suffer," he said.
In addition, the customs official stressed that the latest decision simplifies some provisions of the rules: "For example, we have simplified the declaration process, and now, along with the owner of the goods, his representative can declare the imported goods."
