The unstable epidemiological situation in the country due to the coronavirus does not allow the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Education to make a final decision on the form of education in schools.
According to Gadin.Net, the chairman of the Free Teachers Public Union, Malahat Murshudlu, shared her views on this issue with Media.Az.
Murshudlu noted that he could not say exactly how the classes will be held in the new school year, because the relevant authorities have not made a final decision, and the situation with COVID-19 is changing every day. According to him, at this point, only assumptions and recommendations can be made.
"Education in both secondary schools and universities should be based on plans A and B, depending on the epidemiological situation in the region. In some parts of the country, unlike in Baku, the situation with the coronavirus is more favorable. Thus, the school year there can start on time and in the traditional way. But only if the schools are ready for it. For example, classrooms and buildings can be disinfected if sanitary facilities in schools are repaired. Schools are provided with the necessary sanitary and hygienic materials. In addition, these measures are not only labor-intensive, but also expensive, ”said the education expert.
According to M. Murshudlu, it is recommended to reduce the number of students in the classroom, especially in primary school, and the lessons should not exceed 25 minutes.
"If the weather allows, classes can be held outdoors. This is especially true for rural areas. Parents also need to be informed and educated so that they can support safety measures. Let them contribute to their implementation, "Murshudlu said
